ON-DEMAND WEBINAR
NYSED Information Security Office Data Security Review
On January 16th Chief Information Security Officer Marlowe Cochran announced that NYSED will be conducting a comprehensive data security review. This initiative aims to assess the current data security controls schools have in place to protect systems, applications, and data that contain Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of students, teachers, and principals.
As part of our ongoing commitment to data security in education, IKON Edutech Group invites you to join us for an informative webinar led by Laura Pollak, Supervisor of the Nassau BOCES Data Privacy & Security Service. Laura will provide valuable insights into what needs to be protected and how schools can prioritize and prepare for the upcoming review. She will also present an overview of Education Law 2-d and Part 121 of the regulations of the Commissioner of Education, including the NIST CSF framework.
Here's what we'll cover:
- Understanding the NYSED Data Security Review
- Key aspects of Education Law 2-d and Part 121
- Overview of the NIST CSF framework
- Prioritizing and preparing for the data security review
- Q&A Session
We are honored to have Laura Pollak share her expertise and hope you will join us to take advantage of her unique insights based on years of experience in supporting school districts throughout New York State in building a strong data security foundation.
